The Mid-Mo Veterans Express has come together to offer Vietnam Era (1955 – 1975) Veterans an opportunity for an all-expense paid, one-day travel to Perryville, Missouri to visit the Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial. This memorial is a full- sized, black granite replica of the Vietnam Wall Memorial in Washington, D.C. We encourage any eligible veteran to apply. This event is being organized and conducted by veterans who are members of the Central Missouri Detachment of the Marine Corps League and Auxiliary, the Roscoe Enloe Post 5 American Legion and Auxiliary of Jefferson City, the VFW Post 2657 in Fulton and the DAV Chapter 17 of Central Missouri.
Our vision is to leave and return on the same day by tour bus travel. Leaving from Courtyard by Marriott, 610 Bolivar Street, Jefferson City, Missouri at 7:30 am, and returning in the late afternoon to the same location. After the veterans have had time to visit the memorial, we will then go to the American Legion Post 133 where a meal will be provided at no cost to the Veteran. We will then reload the buses for the return trip to Jefferson City.
